If Australia’s Outback is at the top of your bucket list, there’s a wonderful chance to inspect its native plant life near London. From July 8-13, the Essence of Australia garden at the RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show will showcase the diversity of the Northern Territory and Victoria.
Created by award winning designer Jim Fogarty — who also designed the Australian Garden for the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne that won a gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2011 — Aussie plants, including unusual species, will inspire visitors to learn about and use these plants in their own gardens.
The display will cover all sorts of elements from arid Outback areas to the greenery of Victoria. Its design will pay tribute to Melbourne’s contemporary design and feature the rock formations of the Northern Territory, such as Uluru, and include a “Rainbow Serpent” deck, inspired by the Aboriginal dreamtime creature often seen in Indigenous art. Watch as the garden comes to life!
