Shimmering dawn break reflections at Ormiston Gorge. This oasis in the desert is only 135km from Alice Springs, in the West MacDonnell Ranges. Imagine watching the sun set over Kata Tjuta while listening to sounds of the didgeridoo and enjoying canapé flavours like crocodile and kangaroo. Sounds pretty unreal, doesn’t it? Last week the Aurora Australis was visible in much of southern Australia. This incredible timelapse footage from Ormiston Gorge is perhaps the most northern footage captured of this rare galactic event. Watch for the pink and purple glow towards the end of the clip.
